Maheswar: After visiting Omkareswar you can take a bus to 61 km away Maheswar via Barwa. There are buses to Maheswar from Indore, where the nearest rail station is, 91 km away, Barwa 39 km and Khandwa 110 km away. The Mahishmati of the Ramayana and Mahabharata is today's Maheswar.
