Kalinjar Fort: 67 km from Chitrakut, 25 km north of Khajuraho at Bundelkhand (Bund) in the Vindhyas lie the once impregnable Kalinjar Fort. It is said to be one of the meditating grounds of Shiva. Its glory is enhanced by various sculptures and a host of Puranic tales about it. It is said that the peerless sculpture of Kalinjar inspired the Khajuraho temple complex.
